Recently the DISTED College Student Representative Council (SRC) organized the ‘Capture the Moment Competition 2021’. The main objective the competition was to encourage students to capture memorable images of their daily lives while they continued to study at home. While the campus has now re-opened, during September when the competition was held the event provided a means of students staying connected with their College peers while providing a meaningful way to invest their leisure time.  It served as a means of generating valuable memories – worth more than monetary value. The competition commenced on 6th September, with all submissions due by  3rd October 2021. The winners were announced on the 7th of October 2021 through the DISTED Student Representative Council (SRC) Facebook Page.

Students who participated were expected to take as many photos as possible of their daily routine activities. A collage of their best 9 photos were inserted into 1 picture with a format 3×3 photo grid. They were encouraged to use their creative minds while editing their photos. All submisisons were posted onto social media platforms for a 1-week period in order to gain “likes”. Participants were encouraged to promote their artwork and gain as many likes as possible.

The competition attracted 12 submissions, with students coming from various DISTED programmes. There was a competitive field of submissions, displaying the creativity of students within their photo submissions. First place went to Jeann Lee Zie Hui, but congratulations go all finalists for their impressive submissions.
