He is the founder of Star Deer Image, a creative studio specializing in professional photography and design production.
Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Graphic Design from the Wanganui School of Design, New Zealand, and holding certifications including LMPA (Qualified Master Photographer, UK), Ooi combines international artistic standards with local cultural perspectives. His creative journey spans across photography, multimedia design, and education — inspiring the next generation of visual artists through his roles as a lecturer and photography trainer.
Ooi’s works have been internationally recognized, including being featured in the Top 50 Images (Arts & Culture Category) at the Sony World Photography Awards 2013, and receiving multiple Merit Awards from the Master Photographers Association (UK) in Family, Wedding, and Fashion Photography.
Beyond the studio, Ooi actively collaborates with Sony Malaysia as an Alpha Guru Trainer, conducting more than 50 workshops nationwide, both online and offline, to nurture aspiring photographers and visual creators.
