13 December 2025 marks a defining moment in DISTED as our Student Representative Council had hosted our annual Prom Night with this year’s theme being “The Yule Ball” which was based of the mystical world of Harry Potter, with the event being a strong testament to creativity, meticulous planning, and the vibrant energy of the DISTED student community.
Originating from the entrance, guests were greeted with a mindblowing Great Hall experience. A stunning backdrop of the Yule Ball was shown on an LED Screen, paired with thematic music, setting a captivating theme for the evening. Every detail was carefully selected, all the way from the themed photo booth to the elegantly arranged dining tables. Every guest was welcomed with a personalised letter and magic wand, which added a unique and interactive touch to the night.
The experience kicked off at registration, where guests received physical tickets for a lucky draw, forming anticipation from the get go. One of the notable features that stood out was the House Sorting Station, where attendees completed a quiz to determine their Hogwarts house. Participants received a beautifully designed house brooch as a keepsake, making the experience both engaging and memorable.
The evening programme showed off the diverse talents from DISTED’s students. Performances ranged from soulful singing to dynamic band sets featuring bass and drums. The grand event of the night would be the election of the Prom King and Prom Queen. Elegantly dressed guests cast their votes, in which shortlisted candidates took to the floor for a confident and charismatic catwalk.
Upon the conclusion of the formal programme, the dance floor came to life, giving students the golden opportunity to unwind and celebrate after a demanding examination period. The success of the evening reflected the tireless dedication and creativity from the Student Representative Council.
A special appreciation is extended to SRC President Ooi Ker Min, whose leadership and coordination had played a key role in ensuring the successful execution of the event. The Student Experience Department would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the entire SRC team for delivering a truly magical night that will be remembered by all attendees.
