The Australian High Commission Malaysia orchestrated a momentous reception on 29th August 2023, commemorating the golden jubilee of the George Town-Adelaide Sister City Relationship. The presence of distinguished guests further illuminated this auspicious occasion – Her Excellency, the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, esteemed Governor of South Australia, and Mr. Adam Liaw, the illustrious Penang-born Australian chef, acclaimed winner of MasterChef Australia, accomplished TV presenter, and celebrated author.
The splendour of this event took place within the esteemed walls of Suffolk House – a location imbued with history as the former residence of Captain Francis Light, the pioneering founder of Penang. Interestingly, his son, William Light, would later embark on the journey of establishing the illustrious city of Adelaide.
DISTED College, Penang was a privileged guest among the esteemed invitees, Dato’ Lim Si Boon, and Ms Geong represented DISTED College at the reception and had the privilege of engaging in a brief dialogue with Her Excellency, the Governor of South Australia the Honourable Frances Adamson AC.
