DISTED College School of Business and Hospitality organized a cake decoration workshop for the students from SMJK Sacred Heart on 28th May, 2022. The co-organizers for this workshop were PYDC (Penang Youth Development Centre), MPKK (Majlis Pengurusan Komuniti Kampung) and KRT (Kawasan Rukun Tetangga)

The workshop aimed to:

• To foster the relationship of youth with parents by sharing their baked goods with love.
• To provide a platform for youth to explore the fun of cake decorating with actual hands-on practice.
• To promote creativity and talent amongst the youth within this area.

There were nineteen students from SMJK Sacred Heart who joined the workshop. They spent more than three hours creaming and decorating the cake with the guidance of DISTED Pastry Lecturer Mr. Chan Wye Kok and assisted by students from DISTED college.

All the participants had a wonderful Saturday and happily brought back their “masterpiece” to share with their loved ones.

The top three best decorated cake was awarded to Cheah Siao Yan (Champion), Nur Adriana (1st Runner-up) and Siti Aishah (2nd Runner-up). All of the students were provided with a DISTED certificate of participation.
