On December 1, 2024, DISTED College hosted over 200 students from various schools for the SPM Sejarah and Bahasa Malaysia Seminar, a day focused on academic growth and future planning. Led by Teacher Jack from <\/span>EduSuperHero<\/span>, a dedicated educator with 14 years of experience, and <\/span>Cikgu<\/span> Shima<\/span>, a Guru <\/span>Cemerlang<\/span> with 15 years of <\/span>expertise<\/span>, the seminar provided students with a comprehensive understanding of key subjects and boosted their confidence for upcoming exams. “After joining the Global Centralised Procurement team with Jabil for a few years, I have been gradually promoted to a Senior Buyer. My responsibilities have progressively increased as a senior in the procurement team, where I lead a high-performance team to achieve outstanding outcomes. On Tuesday, 19th November 2024, two lecturers from the School of Business and Hospitality attended the 2025 Budget Seminar, a full-day event dedicated to the latest tax developments unveiled by the Prime Minister during the recent budget announcement. Organised by SH Tax Services Sdn Bhd, the seminar covered crucial updates on business and individual taxation, e-invoicing, and e-PCB.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The event featured esteemed guest speakers who provided valuable insights into high-profile tax cases, making it an informative session on current tax matters. Additionally, the seminar presented excellent networking opportunities with industry practitioners. According to psychology, a person’s mindset and behaviour can impact their biological age, and that it’s possible to get younger biologically while aging chronologically. This is called the reverse aging effect<\/span>.<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

How does it happen? How do we become ill? However, more importantly, how do we stay healthy? How do we keep our bodies from wearing down too soon and becoming increasingly susceptible to disease?<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

According to Dr Spar Myles, there are a few tips to Live Younger and Longer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many people think that life expectancy is largely determined by genetics. However, genes play a much smaller role than originally believed. It turns out that environmental factors like\u202f<\/span>diet and lifestyle are key<\/span><\/a>. In addition, happiness also has positive effects not only for your mood but also your lifespan. A review of 35 studies showed that happy people may live up to 18% longer than their less happy counterparts. Those who felt happiest at 22 years of age were 2.5 times more likely to still be alive six decades later.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

In shorts, longevity may seem beyond your control, but many healthy habits may lead you to a ripe, old a<\/span>ge. Taken together, these habits can boost your health and put you on the path to a long life. At the School of Psychology, students are introduced to this concept of reverse aging.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

On November 8, 2024, the Psychology Club at DISTED College threw an unforgettable <\/span><\/span>Spooktacular Night<\/span><\/span> at Heritage Hall, and what a night it was! The venue buzzed with energy as students, faculty, and even the public came together for an evening packed with excitement, creativity, and a touch of psychological mystery. Dressed in everything from spooky monsters to wacky characters, participants brought the event to life with their colorful costumes. The atmosphere was electric, with a range of interactive booths and activities designed to entertain while subtly introducing psychological concepts. The <\/span>Haunted House<\/span><\/i> was definitely the centerpiece of the night. Thrills, chills, and plenty of screams filled the air as brave souls ventured through the eerie maze, making it the highlight for many. Meanwhile, the <\/span>Trick or Treat<\/span><\/i> stations were packed with guests collecting candy from each booth, adding to the lively, playful atmosphere. What made this event even more special was its openness to the public, bringing together attendees of all ages; from excited kids to curious seniors. The range of activities and the warm, welcoming vibe created a true sense of community that made <\/span>Spooktacular Night<\/span><\/i> stand out as a memorable experience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As the advisor for the Psychology Club, I couldn\u2019t be prouder of our amazing committee members and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success. A huge thank you goes to the Music and Science Clubs for collaborating with us and adding their own flair to the night. The decorations were a feast for the eyes and truly set the mood for the evening. Watching everyone come together in such a fun, engaging way made me so proud of what we accomplished; <\/span>Spooktacular Night<\/span><\/i> was truly a team effort, and the result was nothing short of spectacular!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

On 8<\/span>th<\/span> November 2024, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in the thrilling world of DISTED’s Psychology Department’s Spooktacular Night. As a lecturer, I’ve always been fascinated by the unique blend of academic rigor and creative expression that our students bring to the table. This event was no exception.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The night kicked off with a heart-pounding adventure through a haunted house, where eerie sounds, shadowy figures, and unexpected frights tested the courage of even the bravest souls. It was a delightful surprise to see how our typically composed students transformed into spirited thrill-seekers, their screams echoing through the haunted corridors.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As the night unfolded, I found myself alongside my colleague, Ms. Thiresyinie, manning a booth selling refreshing floats. It was a heartwarming experience to interact with students outside of the classroom setting, engaging in light-hearted conversations and witnessing their enthusiasm for the event. The proceeds from the float sales would directly benefit student initiatives, making our small contribution all the more meaningful.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Beyond the haunted house and the refreshment stand, the Spooktacular Night was a vibrant tapestry of activities. From costume contests that showcased incredible creativity to thrilling games that tested both physical and mental agility, there was something for everyone. The event was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the organising committee, who meticulously planned every detail to ensure a memorable experience for all.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>As the night drew to a close, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and admiration for our students. They had not only organised a fantastic event but also demonstrated a remarkable ability to balance academic pursuits with extracurricular activities. The Spooktacular Night was more than just a Halloween celebration; it was a testament to the vibrant and dynamic community within the School of Psychology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
