DISTED College held its Pre-University (Pre-U) Graduation 2019 on 23 November, at DISTED Heritage Hall to recognise Pre-U students who achieved academic excellence and celebrated the end of their Pre-U studies. Some 90 Cambridge A-Level and SACE-i (South Australia Certificate of Education) students attended the ceremony.<\/p>\n

The President and CEO of DISTED College, Dr Seah Soo Aun officially commenced the event with a speech to congratulate all graduating students. \u201cIndeed, we\u2019re all very proud of the overall achievements of our Pre-U students\u2019, \u201che said. \u201cThis is a testament that the College and its academic team has worked hard and diligently to guide our students in their learning and teaching process.\u00a0 Producing top achievers has always been the outcome of our continuing achievements,\u201d Dr Seah continued.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the ceremony saw many academic achievements of the graduating students which were presented with certificate of recognitions and awards by Dr Seah Soo Aun and the Director of Academic Affairs, Dr Jerry Koay.<\/p>\n

The Country Director (Malaysia & Brunei) Cambridge Assessment International Education, Mr Ng Kim Huat also presented and congratulated the graduating students and stressed the importance of getting ready for the next step of their lives.<\/p>\n

Top achiever Bryan Ng Tung Chen who obtained the Best Across Award and Best Subject Award in Economics and Mathematics Method in the SACE-i programme said the combination of coursework and exams mirrored the assessment methods in universities which had given him the opportunity to familiarise with the new learning styles. \u201cI have also been lucky to have some dedicated and knowledgeable lecturers who never hesitated to give us the extra help and guidance when we needed it,\u201d Bryan Ng said when asked how his college experience has prepared him for future studies in the University.<\/p>\n

A-Level Top achiever Hannah Firzanah bt Jaafar who was awarded the Best Across Award and Best Subject in Law and English Language shared, \u201cI have Ms Bahmini, my Law lecturer to thank for my achievement. Without her guidance, I don\u2019t think I would have been able to obtain the Best Subject Award,\u201d She also shared that DISTED has taught her good time management. \u201cWithout proper time management, it\u2019s very easy to fall behind your studies,\u201d<\/p>\n

DISTED College has been producing Pre-University top achievers since 1987. This is as attested by Top Achiever Yap Jiong Yan who obtained the highest score in the world in Mathematics in the recent May\/June 2019 AS examinations. He said the amazing lecturers in DISTED have been effectively delivering the course content in an easy-to-understand manner so that students could prepare to tackle the examination. Other Top achievers included Khow Ji Yin who obtained Top in Malaysia Award in English Language in 2018 and Chan Yan Juo who obtained an ATAR of 95.55 in the 2018 SACE-i Examination.<\/p>\n
