This module covers essential management principles, including planning, organizing leading and controlling. This module will look at basic issues of scarcity, choice, value and how and why resource allocation are organised in free markets, or in controlled markets or by government. Supply, demand, money, prices, elasticity and markets in both the ‘formal’ and ‘informal’ economies will be examined. The business organisation, its environment and market structures will be described. Short run and long run costs, fixed and variable costs, average, total and marginal costs, economies and diseconomies of scale, minimum efficient scale and the growth of businesses will be studied. Business structure, behaviour, pricing and output strategies and the need for government regulation of business activity will be discussed.
This course will equip students with an introduction to the concepts of marketing where they able to possess broad-based theoretical knowledge and relevant practical skills in area of an analyse market opportunities and select target markets, how to develop a marketing mix, and to develop skills on how to manage a marketing effort. The skills acquired through this course will enable students to perform sustainable operational and entrepreneurial tasks ethically in business organisations.
This module begins by introducing students the business transactions, sources of documents and accounting equations. It then continues to cover books of prime entry, double-entry bookkeeping systems, ledgers and bank reconciliation. The syllabus then finishes with the preparation of the trial balance and final accounts of a sole proprietor.
The subject introduces students to the principles of Management Accounting and the role played by the Management Accountant. The subject equips students with the essential concepts of management accounting like accounting for inventory and overheads, marginal costing, budgeting, cost-volume profit analysis and relevant information for planning and decision making .

The primary aim of Business Ethics module is to introduce the students to ethical concepts that are relevant to resolving moral issues in business; to impart the reasoning and analytical skills needed to apply ethical concepts to business; to provide an understanding of the social, technological, natural environments within which moral issues in business arise; and to supply case studies of actual moral dilemmas faced by businesses.
This module is designed to enable students to develop the skills required to manage and implement a business-based project. Students will learn project management principles such as defining, planning, scheduling, executing, and controlling a project. Project management techniques such as the use of work breakdown structure, critical path method, Gantt Chart, and project management software will be covered in this module.
This course equips students with essential skills in human resource planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and rewards, and employment relations. By the end of the module, students will gain the knowledge to excel in human resource management.

This course will provide general understanding of macroeconomic concepts, principles and theories and its application to major economic issues and institutions. This course will equip students with comprehensive global marketing knowledge and skills where students enable to develop an international marketing plan, how to find global business opportunities, understand the cultural aspects and importing/exporting activities. This course enhances the importance of accounting concepts, accounting knowledge in sole proprietor trading for year end adjustments, the preparation of extended trial balance and error detection in control accounts. It also aims to introduce the students to partnership accounting and financial statements analysis for performance evaluation purposes.
This course lays the foundation for future in-depth study of financial management. Students are exposed to topics such as roles played by the finance manager, time value of money, capital budgeting, cost of capital, working capital management, dividend policies and long term financing. The course has recently been updated to include the latest developments in finance like FINTECH.
This course equips students with the essential skills to derive meaningful insights and make informed decisions using data. Students will learn to systematically analyze, interpret, and present data, fostering their ability to solve business problems and enhance decision-making processes. Key topics covered include sampling methods, confidence intervals and estimation. The course also include the application of inferential statistics for single sample and two independent and dependent samples using appropriate statistical tests. Students will also get to explore relationships between variables and making predictions using regression and correlation analysis.
