The grand finals of the 2018 DISTED Culinary Challenge brought the curtain down at DISTED School of Hospitality Management on 12th May which feature 20 talent young chefs representing 10 secondary school across Penang. The winner went to Nur Sini Syauqina Bt Yusoff and Nurul Syafiqa Bt Zainal Abidin from SMK (P) Methodist. The winning team walked away cash prize, trophies, certificate of participation, the coveted DISTED Culinary Challenge Trophy and DISTED Scholarship worth RM10,000.
Sean Cheah Nan Lin and Yvonne Lim Wei Xuan from Chung Ling Private High School and Khoo Guan Ghee and Yvonne Tan Xin Yan from Phor Tay Private High School were the runner ups. The second place won cash prize, trophies, certificate of participation. The third place walked away cash prize, trophies and certificate of participation.
Other highlights during the finale include the Fruits and Vegetables Artistry Challenge to showcase ones fruits and vegetables carving skills. Teo Chiew Chi and Florence Lim Mingxuan walked away the First prize and won cash prize, trophies and certificate of participation. The second prize went to Marina Bt Abdul Kadir and Liew Jun Hong with cash prize, trophies and certificate of participant and the third prize went to Ong Zi Jie and Thor Shao Hang with cash prize, trophies and certificate of participant.
