DISTED’s School of Pre-University organised its inaugural Mathematical Olympiad for secondary schools in Penang this past weekend.  The DISTED Mathematical Olympiad was well received, with fourteen (14) schools confirming their participation.

The event is supported by DISTED’s academic partners, the Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT), Japan, and the Association of Science and Technology Innovation (ASTI), and was held at the DISTED YCE Heritage Campus along Jalan Macalister

Dr Jerry Koay, DISTED Director of Academic Affairs, officiated the Olympiad and was delighted to see such strong support from the schools, and encouraged an even bigger participation for next year’s DISTED Mathematical Olympiad.

The event was also graced by two external judges, namely Mr Saravanan Manian, Engineering Manager from National Instrument, and Associate Professor Dr Pang Boey LIM, Director of Global Education, Toyohashi University of Technology.

Many secondary schools such as Chung Ling High School, Penang Chinese Girls High School and many more have sent participants for both the individual and team event.
