This award is both a qualification in its own right and a stepping-stone to a professional accountancy qualification.

You will develop practical accounting skills and learn to produce financial accounts, interpret financial statements and also, acquire the skills necessary for management and financial decision-making in a modern business environment.

The degree provides excellent employment opportunities such as in financial services, banking, taxation, insurance and the public sector.

BA(Hons) Business Management
It gives the advantage of acquiring managerial skills and combining knowledge of all key business and management areas such as economics, finance, human resource, marketing and business law in developing enterprising managers.

BA(Hons) International Business Management
You will gain a broad business education with an international focus on all areas of business so as to equip you with the ability to communicate and succeed in a global market environment.

BA(Hons) Marketing Management
This award gives practical marketing skills, underpinned by an understanding of the wider business framework in commercial, industrial, professional and public sector organizations, for you to start a career in sales and marketing, advertising, public relations, brand management, retailing and general management.

General Studies
Students are required to complete the compulsory General Studies prescribed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Course Structure

2 or 3 years degree program

3 years (6 semesters)

The programme can be completed entirely at DISTED (3+0 option) or with one or two years of study in the United Kingdom at Staffordshire University.

Academic Requirements

BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance
Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 2 AND

All related and/or MQA accredited diplomas with CGPA of 2.50, and Credits in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM level are eligible for advanced standing into Level 5 of the degree programme

STPM: Grade C+ (NGMP 2.33) in any two subjects, and Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM level
A-Level: 2 Passes
SACE International / HSC / AUSMAT: ATAR 50
UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and a Pass in English
Matriculation / Foundation qualification:
CGPA of 2.50, and Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM level

BA (Hons) Business Management / International Business / Marketing Management
All related and/or MQA accredited diplomas with CGPA 2.00 are eligible for advanced standing into Level 5 of the degree

STPM: Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in any 2 subjects, and a Pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level
A-Level: 2 Passes
SACE International / HSC / AUSMAT: ATAR 50
UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and English

Pearson Test of English: 51
DISTED English Proficiency Test: 50%

Exemption may be granted to students who have satisfactorily completed a post-secondary studies programme that is fully conducted and assessed in English.

Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
