What Is IELTS? |
| IELTS (International English Language Testing
System) is jointly managed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations
(Cambridge ESOL), British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia.
IELTS is a specialized international English proficiency qualification. It conforms to the highest international standards of language assessment. It covers the four language skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing. It is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who wish to study in institutions of higher education or work in places where English is the language of communication. |

| The IELTS test is conducted at least once a month and more often at peak times at IDP: IELTS Australia and the British Council in Penang. Results are available within two weeks of the test. |
