The Star e-Paper sponsorship to benefit 300 students

THREE hundred students from six secondary schools in Penang will receive a one-year sponsorship of The Star’s e-Paper — thanks to Disted College.

College president and CEO Dr Seah Soo Aun said this was timely as they were emphasising on their English programme at the campus.

“We thought this will be a good time to give students direct access to improving their English proficiency.

“At Disted, what we have is called Disted Connect where we try to connect with our community. So this is a way to help students connect with the college.

“The idea is for 50 students in each of the six schools to have access to the e-Paper and English reading materials,” he said at the college campus in Macalister Road yesterday.

Academic affairs director Dr Liew Yueah Cin said the sponsorship was a good opportunity for the students to keep abreast with the current issues and developments.

“It will also be useful for them to develop their intellectual, critical and higher order thinking skills,” he said. (ZAINUDIN AHAD/The Star, Metro North, 8 Mar 2016)
