DISTED College has once again achieved an astounding 5-star excellent rating in an overall college-based ranking based on the latest MyQUEST 2014/2015 exercise, with results just released by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.
MyQUEST is the Malaysian Quality Evaluation System for private colleges in Malaysia, which is carried out once in every two years since 2011. Private colleges are ranked by MyQUEST from one (poor) to six stars (excellent), depending on their performances in terms of quality students, resources, governance, programmes and graduates.
Separately, the College gained an outstanding 6-star rating in the ‘General Programmes’ and ‘Science, Mathematics and Computing’ clusters, for Pre-university and Computer Science programmes, respectively. DISTED’s Business and Hospitality programmes also received a boost with excellent 5-star rating under the ‘Social Science, Business and Law’ and ‘Services’ clusters respectively. It is for the third consecutive times that the College’s School of Hospitality Management have been able to achieve MyQUEST 5-star rating under the ‘Services’ cluster whilst being the only one in the northern region of Malaysia to have achieved such feat.
DISTED Director of Academic Support and Continuing Professional Development, Mr Ahmad Taiff bin Isahak was quick to point out that the College’s recent achievements in the MyQUEST 2014/2015 exercise was attributed to the College’s commitment in delivery of quality education.
“With our MyQUEST 5-star rating, I’m proud that we are able to once more demonstrate our commitment to quality in delivering education. I am especially proud of the two 6-star ratings achieved under – the ‘Science, Mathematics and Computing’ and ‘General Programmes’ clusters. Parents can be assured of that their children are in good hands,” Taiff said.
DISTED Head of Pre-University Studies, Dr Loo Ai Yin, described it as “a great honour to be ranked 6-star for the ‘General Programmes’ cluster which covers pre-university programmes, as well as the ‘Science, Mathematics and Computing’ cluster” in addition to the overall 5-star MyQUEST ranking. She added that the accolade reflected the high standard of teaching excellence and outstanding results achieved by students in the Cambridge A-Level and SACE International examinations.
Speaking of the prestige of being rated a 5-star institution amongst the country’s higher education providers, DISTED Director of Academic Affairs Dr. Liew Yueah Cin said “The 5-star MyQUEST rating awarded by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education is a testament to the quality of education provided at DISTED College.
