Ms Chee Chen Ni was presented with the “Top in Malaysia Award” for securing the highest marks in Malaysia in the Cambridge International Examination at AS Level for General Paper in June 2017.
The charming and talented student formerly from Tenby International School was delighted to receive the news.
“I couldn’t believe it when DISTED College called me up and delivered the news,” she continued.
Chen extended her appreciation to DISTED College and its lecturers, especially Mr Suntheran who taught her the General Paper subject.
“Mr Suntheran had never once turn down assessing my essays I’ve written in my spare time. For that, he’s a crucial factor that contributed to this achievement,” she said. “So I would love to share this achievement with him too!” she continued.
Being on the top is not easy, Chen had to compete with thousands of other students who also sat for the same exam.
“My brother told me this “success is built proportionate to your hard work”. This quote of his has inspired me in various ways. Asides, I thank my family and friends for believing in me and I also would like to thank God for listening to my prayers and always being at my side.” She shared when asked about how she contribute to her achievements.
“My final goal is to gain admission into National University of Singapore’s School of Medicine”, she answered after being asked about her next step after her Pre-U studies.
Students who achieved exceptional results in the recent Cambridge examinations would be recognised at the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony held at the Atlanta Ballroom, Armada Hotel Petaling Jaya.
Chen and her parents will be attending the ceremony to receive the recognition.
