It was a night of glitz and glamour at Gurney Resort Hotel with DISTED students attending its annual prom night with the theme “Casino Royale”. A total of 60 students attended the prom and were all looking smart and elegant in their dandy suits and elegant gowns.

Apart from the invited sponsors, other guests include DISTED faculty and management staff. Among them were Ms Jesscia Ang and Mr Kelvin Lim from the SAD (Student Affairs Dept) to show support for the prom.

The night began with an icebreaking session to lighten up the mood and for the students to mingle and jingle amongst themselves. There were also many performances lined up for the night such as a singing performance by DISTED’s very own Music Club members Mr Neoh Yi Xian, Mr Cheah Qu Hong and Mr Loh Koh Jing, Dancetitude Studio’s energetic and upbeat dance piece, a Beatbox show by Mr Loo Kean Ming and a harmonica performance by DISTED’s Mr Ng Yuan Shen.

As per any prom tradition, the highlight of the evening saw the crowning of Prom King & Queen. Mr Perry Kuan and Ms Nicole Yeoh were voted respectively as Prom King and Queen after a gruelling process of questions and answers by Mr Kelvin Lim of the SAD. The event would not be complete with another highlight of the night which is the Best Dressed for the female and male category. Ms Dhanushri a/p Manisekar and Mr Lim Yi Xuan were the both the lucky winners of their respective category and walked away with cash voucher and power bank as a prize.

Alas the curtain call for the night was the lucky draw grand prize with Ms Vivian Tang walking away with a HP Pocket printer.

“It was a wonderful night for every guests, the guests enjoyed the themed and everyone had a great night with food, entertainment and performances,” Mr Tan Wai Hung, Koba, President of DISTED SRC (Student Representative Council) said.

Every year, DISTED SRC works hard to initiate and implement projects and activities to promote the interest of the college and the students and provides opportunities to serve to the college and it’s community. The prom night is the highlight of the SRC’s yearly initiative for DISTED.
